| Going to a dog show this weekend. I am handling a French Bulldog who only needs one major to earn his Champion title.
His name is Dash.
Wish us luck and if anyone lives in the area, come watch the fun because it's FREE to get in.

| Well we didn't take home anything different than what we took with us except a little more experience under our belt.
Perry Payson had a massive Fabelhaft Robobull dog in our puppy class who even went on to get Best of Breed!!!!! Hard to beat a dog like that with that handler too. A puppy going BOB is not an easy task. Darlene, this weekend it went to the "big" frenchies and us littler guys got the back seat.
Watching the rest of the show is always a blast, I am so hooked on dog shows it could be dangerous. I love showing even if we loose. I am trying to convince my mom to let me take Dash to Fayetteville, Ark. I may take Spike to that one. She baited and free stacked wonderfully at practice tonite and last week too. She is also going through her first heat so I think she is maturing which is what she needed. It will be the last day ever she can compete in the Puppy class as she turns a year old on Dec.6 and the Sat. show is Dec. 5. Could put maturity on her side for the puppy class being she will be the oldest one if there is competition.

| Oh yea, the rest of my thoughts.
You know when I went into the ring with Perry Payson, part of me is so imtimidated by the thought of going against someone so "respected" in the breed that I feel like I am totally out of place. Another part of me says someday that will be you so keep on truckin.
Then when I get over to watch the Corgi's and a lady whose kennel name I see frequently on show catalogs and what some would consider a respected regular exhibitor in the breed asks me to hold some females while she goes in and out of Am. Bred and BBE classes and notice that these dogs toe nails havn't been trimmed in at least 3 WEEKS!!!! The dogs were nice but I know some of my dogs are contenders against theirs had I only showed up with my dogs in tow. I wouldn't be caught dead at a dog show with dogs nails that hadn't been grinded within about 48 hours before showing. It is a vital part of showing, nails MUST be short. It is just proper dog show etiquiette (spelling?). So why do I feel so intimiated sometimes by all these other people, some who don't even do a nail job on their dogs before a show? I think I will remember that moment and put it in my bag of esteem booster tricks. I am not out of place as I think I am for fudgy sake. At least I do a good groom job if nothing else.
